Four people were killed in a shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia on Wednesday. Afterward, Kamala Harris and her fellow Democrats wasted no time in shamelessly politicizing this tragedy. Rather than wait for more details to come to light about what actually happened, Democrats immediately started using this shooting to fuel their own gun-grabbing agenda.

Unfortunately for Harris and other top Democrats, however, this has since come back to bite them in a big way. After Harris used the Apalachee High School shooting to call for a gun ban, it was revealed that the gunman was actually thwarted by an armed School Resource Officer.

Had this School Resource Officer not had a gun of his own, there likely would have been many more victims. Thankfully, he was able to exercise his Second Amendment rights in order to protect his school and take this gunman down.

FOX 35 Orlando aired the press conference, where Smith said, “Obviously the shooter was armed, and our School Resource Officer engaged him, and the shooter quickly realized that if he did not give up, that it would end with an officer involved shooting.”

He said the shooter “gave up, got on the ground, and the deputy took him into custody.” Ironically, in 2019, during her first presidential campaign, Kamala Harris called for taking police officers out of schools.

The armed School Resource Officer who stopped this shooting reportedly had “undergone specialized training.” This training included “four hours in active shooter response, six hours in threat assessment in schools and 12 hours in school safety procedures.”

Had Harris gotten her way, however, this officer never would have been in the school in the first place. He certainly never would have been armed with the weapon that he used to save countless lives.

Harris Calls For Gun Ban

Before knowing any of the facts behind yesterday’s shooting, Harris was already using it to call for gun-grabbing measures.

“We have to end this epidemic of gun violence in our country once and for all,” she said.

Harris then pushed for an “‘assault weapons’ ban and universal background checks and red flag laws.”

She added, “It is a false choice to say you’re either for the Second Amendment or you want to take everyone’s guns away. I’m in favor of the Second Amendment, and I know we need reasonable gun safety laws in our country.”

Harris is far from the only Democrat who prematurely used this shooting to push for gun control. Within hours of the tragedy, President Joe Biden said that America “must ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines once again, require safe storage of firearms, enact universal background checks, and end immunity for gun manufacturers.”

Harris, Biden, and their fellow Democrats clearly don’t care about the actual victims of the Apalachee High School shooting. If they did, they would wait a few days before politicizing this tragedy to enact their own radical agendas.

It has become obvious that this school shooting doesn’t quite fit the left’s gun-grabbing agenda. That’s why you can expect that Harris, her fellow Democrats, and the mainstream media will now quickly move on from it. They will likely sweep it under the rug and wait for another shooting that they feel better fits their anti-gun narrative.

In the end, we’re thankful that there was a good guy with a gun at Apalachee High School yesterday. Had there not been, there’s no telling how many more lives would have been lost.

We continue to pray for the victims and their families. The focus right now should be on them, not on the left’s anti-gun nonsense.
