Florida Republican Gives Trump Huge Boost – Makes 1 Official Move to Solve Donald’s Big Problem

A big problem has emerged for former President Donald Trump as he continued his dominating run for the White House. Trump has amassed expensive legal costs in defending against civil and criminal lawsuits waged against him.

Trump continues to battle lawsuits in New York, Georgia, and Washington, D.C. High-profile attorneys needed for such cases don’t come cheap. Anyone with so many legal attacks must find a way to pay for a strong legal defense.

Florida Republican state Sen. Ileana Garcia proposed a solution. The state legislator filed a proposal to create the “Freedom Fighters Fund.” The fund would provide monetary help to political candidates who are Florida residents facing legal action. Trump is now a Florida resident.

From the Washington Examiner:
The fund would take $5 million from the state’s Public Campaign Finance — Matching Funds Program. Other funding would come from voluntary donations through driver’s license registrations, per Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis’s office. The funding would be allocated from the CFO to “credible candidates.”

Eligible residents specifically would need to be running for the White House. Garcia made the proposal one day after Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) suspended his campaign for president.

“We’re in the midst of an historic moment where we’re watching an election that’s trying to be stolen by Left wing prosecutors, the Biden Administration and even Blue States,” Garcia said in a statement.

Garcia claimed that Trump’s political opponents are not trying to win over voters to their side. Instead, they are working to force Trump off the ballot by “weaponizing the courts,” Garcia stated. She believes any support to get a Floridian in the White House benefits the state and nation.

Trump lives in the Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach. He is the only president in history to face criminal indictments. The Freedom Fighters Fund would exclusively apply to Trump in this election cycle as he defends against multiple legal cases.

Trump continued his dominating run to date in the Republican primary elections by winning New Hampshire this week. He topped former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley, the only challenger left in the race.

The new fund that would pay Trump’s legal bills may never make it onto the state books. DeSantis responded to an article saying some Florida Republicans want taxpayers to pay those bills. He said in a social media post, “But not the Florida Republican who wields the veto pen…”

Key Takeaways:

  • A Florida Republican made a proposal to get Trump $5 million in legal defense funds.
  • The money would come from Florida taxpayers and benefit Sunshine State residents.
  • Eligible Florida political candidates must be seeking election to the White House.
