What’s Happening:
Americans watch as a newly-elected senator appears to be falling apart. We’ve warned the country about this man, who suffered a stroke during the election cycle last year. John Fetterman has not appeared to have recovered from that severe episode. After a few days in the hospital last month, he admitted himself into Walter Reed, for “depression.”
We can’t say if this depression is really a front for other, serious complications from his stroke. But things aren’t looking good. He’s been MIA for weeks, now. Even his family has run off to Canada. We’ve received no updates from the man himself. Not videos of him thanking supporters for their “thoughts and prayers.”
Finally, his office gave an update. But it’s far from reassuring.
From the New York Post:
Sen. John Fetterman’s health is reportedly improving but he could remain hospitalized for up to two more weeks as doctors work to get his medication “exactly right.” […]
“John Fetterman is making progress in his recovery from clinical depression and could leave Walter Reed within next two weeks,” CNN congressional reporter Manu Raju tweeted on Tuesday.
“The senator’s physician recently informed him that he will be ‘as good or better than his best days post-stroke,’” Raju added.
Eh… what? Fetterman needs to stay in the hospital for at least two more weeks, to get his medication “right”? Call me crazy, but does someone need to stay in a hospital in order for doctors to tweak his medication?
For most people, a doctor gives them a prescription. They go on their way and the doctor follows up in a few days or weeks. They don’t need to be kept in a hospital for constant supervision… unless something is very wrong.
And let’s not gloss over what Raju (a CNN reporter, not Fetterman or his staff) admitted. That Fetterman will be as good or better “than his best days post-stroke.” Meaning he is suffering lingering side effects from his stroke!
Why does a man who is very ill, due to a stroke, remain in the Senate? If this was a newly-elected Republican, you know the party or his state’s governor, would be trying to get him to step down. Why are Democrats so quick to ignore all these red flags?
If Fetterman’s best hope is to match his “post-stroke” condition, he’s in no shape to be making decisions that affect the entire nation.
But apparently, Democrats don’t agree.
Key Takeaways:
- John Fetterman will remain in the hospital for at least another two weeks.
- The man suffered a severe stroke but has not been urged to step down.
- The doctor claims they need more time to get his medication “exactly right.”
