DeSantis Drops His Hammer on the Washington D.C. – The Florida Governor Supports Moving Fed Agencies Outside Capitol

What’s Happening:

There is a reason the left-wing media hates Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis so much. And it’s because his anti-woke, anti-socialist, pro-conservative approach to leadership is working. DeSantis went to war with Disney, and won. And his success in the Sunshine State might become a model for the entire country.

We know DeSantis has set his sights beyond just Florida. Many are waiting for the day he announces a 2024 campaign. He might be inching closer to that plan, with his latest speech. Because the America First governor just dropped an A-bomb on the D.C. swamp. And his latest plan will have leftists running for the hills.

From Fox News:

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis… said in a recent interview published Saturday that he would support moving some federal agencies outside Washington, D.C.

“Too much power has accumulated in D.C. and the result is a detached administrative state that rules over us and imposes its will on us,” the Republican governor told the New York Post…

“While there are a host of things that need to be done to re-constitutionalize government, parceling out federal agencies to other parts of the country could help reduce the negative effects of this accumulation of power.”

Wow. Talk about draining the swamp! DeSantis doesn’t just want to reduce the size of the federal government. He wants to dismantle D.C.! During an interview over the weekend, DeSantis talked about removing federal agencies from Washington.

He said that moving them to other parts of the country would prevent the “accumulated” power that exists in D.C. DeSantis also spoke of “re-constitutionalizing” the government, meaning bringing the federal government back under the authority of the Constitution (something Democrats have been fighting for years).

What would moving these agencies do? All major federal agencies, from the IRS to the FBI, have their headquarters in D.C. That makes it very easy for the corrupt D.C. swamp to control these agencies. To set their agendas and manipulate their priorities.

Moving these agencies to various corners of the country would be like breaking up a large monopoly. These agencies would be close to the people they claim to serve. And it would make it much harder for Congress, the White House, and lobbyists from influencing them.

But that would take a big move by Congress, and the president, to do such a thing. Why is a governor talking about it? Perhaps this is a sign that Gov. DeSantis has plans on going to D.C. himself, to shake things up?

Key Takeaways:

  • DeSantis called for federal agencies to be moved out of D.C.
  • He also called for “re-constitutionalizing” the government, reducing its power.
  • DeSantis could be angling for a 2024 presidential run.
