In recent years, Democrats have become increasingly vocal about “reparations.” This is the idea that the government should “pay back” black Americans for slavery. I know what you’re thinking. “But no living America has ever been a slave.”
Yep! You’re catching on. Many critics consider reparations an unconstitutional scheme to “redistribute” wealth and manipulate minority voters. But in one major blue state, they are hellbent on making this a reality–costing hard-working taxpayers potentially billions. But the left’s latest scheme just hit a wall.

The public, facing a new inflation surge and higher interest rates on everything from cars to credit cards, is expressing no appetite to add higher taxes, either national or in states, to pay for reparations to ancestors of black slavery…
In the survey, 54% opposed reparation schemes such as those being considered in California, St. Louis, Virginia’s Loudoun County, and on Capitol Hill…
Asked more specifically if they wanted a plan that would require new taxes to cover checks to descendants, 63% were in opposition and 29% in support.
Well, look at that! Thanks to Biden, Americans are suffering rampant inflation and skyrocketing interest rates. Biden has already passed a bill that will make your taxes next year go through the roof. And now, many Democrats at the state level want to tax you even more and give that money to black people.
But a new poll reveals that few Americans support the notion. Fifty-four percent of Americans are against the idea. That number jumped to sixty-three percent when they were asked if their taxes should pay for reparations.
Obviously, many black Americans would warm up to the idea. Who doesn’t like free money? But this is yet another scheme by Democrats to exploit race to get ahead. Reparations won’t lift people out of poverty. They won’t end ongoing tensions between the races. They will only hurt hard-working Americans and make millions dependent on the government.
Which, of course, is what Democrats want. They fear too many black voters leaving the left. And in recent years, Democrats have done very little to actually help black Americans. So, giving out reparations is the latest scheme designed to trick black voters into thinking the left is really helping.
But it doesn’t seem most of America is on board.
