Now, the governor from Bob’s very own state is facing a scandal of his own. He took state funds and spent them on something nobody was expecting. Now, he’s begging Democrats to bail him out.

Democratic New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy is asking the state Democratic Party to reimburse taxpayers after he used $12,000 in state funds at a Taylor Swift concert and other stadium events…

Murphy’s office says it had always expected the state party to cover the costs, but noticed it had failed to do so. The governor’s office then dipped into a $95,000 personal expense account set up for the office. That account is set up to pay for “Official Receptions, Official Residence, and Other Official Expenses,” and cannot be used for “personal purposes,” according to Politico.

Governor of New Jersey, Phil Murphy is calling on Democrats to pay back $12,000 he took from the state. He reportedly used these funds to attend events at MetLife Stadium, including food and drinks at a Taylor Swift concert.

Murphy used a $95,000 personal expense account to cover the bills. That account, however, was meant for official events and expenses, not personal visits to concerts. The only way he can avoid serious consequences is if state Democrats bail him out.

The money New Jersey Democrats would use to cover this debt would come out of donations made to the party. Did donors give to Democrats, thinking their money would cover Murphy’s partying? Probably not.

Worse still is the fact that the governor used official expenses for his personal entertainment. Critics will no doubt ask why Gov. Murphy attended a Taylor Swift concert in the first place, considering her core fan base is much younger.

This comes just weeks after New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez was incited for taking bribes from a foreign government. Menendez could face years in prison for both bribery and acting as a foreign agent while serving in the Senate.

Should Democrats fail to cover Gov. Murphy’s expenses, he might face ethics violations or other consequences.
