Congress Opens Investigation Into Hunter Biden’s Emails – Hard Drive Report Alleges Joe Biden Involvement

For months, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has avoided questions concerning his son, Hunter, and his business dealings in the Ukraine.

Hunter Biden, formerly a board member with Burisma Holdings, has been under heavy scrutiny due to the since-revealed corruption of that corporation. And Joe’s involvement remains a question.

But now, the Senate Homeland Committee wants answers.

They’ve officially opened an investigation into a newly released set of emails that allegedly ties Joe Biden to his son’s business partners.

Specifically, the Committee wants to determine if then-Vice President Joe Biden really was introduced to a top Burisma executive.

The emails, apparently obtained by the FBI from an abandoned laptop in December of 2019, suggest this is the case.

From Fox News:

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee is investigating newly released emails that reveal that Hunter Biden introduced his father, former Vice President Joe Biden, to a top executive at Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings in 2015 at Hunter’s request.

The Biden camp has already denied the accusation, saying Joe Biden’s “official schedule” never included a meeting with the alleged Ukrainian executive.

But Committee Chairman Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) told Fox News that he wants validation — he’s already contacted the person who provided these emails.

The team will now attempt to determine the accuracy and validity of the information.

Earlier, it was reported that Hunter may have introduced his father to Vadym Pozharskyi in April 2015 in Washington, D.C. This was one year after Hunter obtained his position with Burisma.

The email reportedly read:

Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together. It’s realty [sic] an honor and pleasure.

Furthermore, an earlier email from May 2014 supposedly showed Pozharskyi asking Hunter for “advice on how you could use your influence” to help the company.

That influence, obviously, could’ve come in the form of Joe Biden.

Biden once bragged about how he pressured the Ukraine to fire a prosecutor who was then investigating Burisma. He also threatened to withhold $1 billion in U.S. loan aid if the prosecutor wasn’t fired.

Now, Biden’s team maintains that this was simply due to Burisma’s apparent corruption. It didn’t have anything to do with protecting Hunter.

However, that could be difficult to prove, given the family connection.

We’ll have to see what the Committee turns up in its investigation before coming to any concrete conclusions, but this is an issue Joe would rather not have to face on the campaign trail.

Key Takeaways:

  • The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee has opened an investigation targeting the Bidens.
  • They want to determine the validity of newly released emails, which show that Hunter introduced Joe to a Burisma executive in 2015.
  • There’s an earlier email that apparently shows this executive asking Hunter if he could “use his influence” to help the company.
