Why are so many lawmakers eager to send billions to Ukraine? We are suffering from raging inflation. Experts predict a recession is on the way. Americans are begging for relief as the economy stumbles. Yet everyone from Joe Biden to Mitch McConnell is all too happy to fund a war were are not even a part of.
It’s important to keep in mind that when we say Congress sent billions to Ukraine, they didn’t write the country a check. Specifically, Congress is spending billions of your dollars to buy weapons from the military-industrial complex. And those weapons, planes, tanks, and other tech is shipped to Ukraine.
And guess who gets rich off of these sales?

To make up for that aid, top defense companies have boosted production, and lawmakers trading on company stocks saw a financial windfall as a result, according to publicly available stock trading data.
How interesting! Or, should we say, criminal. Congress is voting to spend billions of tax dollars to buy weapons for Ukraine. Oh, and by the way, many of these congressmen voting for this also own stocks from the companies making the weapons.
Talk about a conflict of interest! These lawmakers, both Republicans and Democrats in the House and Senate, are spending our money to buy weapons for another country. And they are getting rich from it because they own stock in the companies getting these tax dollars.
What an interesting way to fleece the American public. Of course, we need to help Ukraine fight off evil Russia. But with each passing month, there seems to be no end in sight to this war. Meanwhile, most Ukrainians have fled the country as refugees to Poland. So, why are we still bankrolling a war that is blowing up empty buildings and fields?
Perhaps it’s because the military-industrial complex always needs a war happening somewhere. And thanks to Donald Trump, the endless wars in the Middle East were ramping down. So, Biden needed to find a new conflict to get us involved in, so he and Congress can shovel more tax dollars to defense contractors.
All so these scum bags get rich in the process.
