Christians Demand Boycott of Iconic Car Company – They Erased 1 Historic Christian Symbol

What’s Happening:

Don’t think the powers that be are trying to destroy our Christian culture? Think again. We know all about how leftists work overtime to erase faith and God from our way of life. They took prayer out of schools. They fight against putting “In God We Trust” in schools or government buildings. And when was the last time you saw a Christian portrayed positively in a Hollywood production?

Probably not in the last 30 years!

But it’s actually getting worse. An iconic car company released a video celebrating the history of its most popular car. The video features this car race through various cities all over the world. At one point, it is shown near the 25th Abril Bridge in the Portuguese capital city of Lisbon. And, to the shock of millions, the company digitally erased a famous, Christian landmark. Literally, a statue of Christ.

From The Blaze:

As the 911 speeds past the 25th Abril Bridge, which connects the Portuguese capital city of Lisbon to the municipality Almada, a pedestal can be seen in the background without its historic statue.

That 269-foot base has been holding up the iconic Cristo Rei (“Christ the King”) statue since before the first Porsche 911 took to European asphalt…

It appears the marketing team at Porsche figured 2023 was an ideal time to virtually raze it.

Wow. Cristo Rei is a statue of Jesus Christ erected in Lisbon after WWII. The country put up the statue as thanks to God for sparing it from the horrors of the war. For some unknown reason, the pedestal of the statue is clearly seen in the Porsche video, but the statue of Christ is missing.

The only explanation for this is that someone who was editing the video went out of their way to remove the statue of Christ. Perhaps some “woke” employee working for the company was offended that the statue of Jesus could be seen in an ad selling their overpriced car.

And the executives who approved this ad either didn’t notice or didn’t care that Jesus was erased. Users online were not kind. Criticism of this decision was fierce. Jack Posobiec wrote, “They aren’t hiding it anymore. They won’t stop until Christ is erased from the world.”

A top Portuguese official stated, “Porsche is not an option anymore!” Polish lawyer and politician Kacper Płażyński brutally slammed the company by writing, “‘Progressive Free World.’ Well, @Porsche made a fortune from World War II and the supply of engines for German (slave-built) tanks. Hitler wanted to destroy Christianity. @Porsche sticks to his Nazi roots.”

(Hitler reportedly claimed he was going “to stamp out Christianity root and branch.”)

After calls for boycotts started to rise, Porsche hastily hid the video on YouTube. The company then apologized for offending people. It did not explain why they erased the picture of Christ from the video. While they did the right thing to apologize, it might not be enough to calm angered viewers.

Key Takeaways:

  • Porsche posted an ad in which they erased a statue of Jesus Christ.
  • They erased Cristo Rei from its pedestal outside Lisbon, Portugal.
  • Users, including a Portuguese official, were outraged.
  • The company hid the video and issued an apology.
