Nancy Pelosi outraged her colleagues by passing a new rule for all members of the House.
Even if a congressman is vaccinated, the speaker is demanding everyone go back to wearing masks.

Now, it seems she is taking this a step further. Instead of simply asking people to wear masks as they enter the building (you know, like a normal person would), Pelosi is going overboard.

U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) were ordered to start arresting visitors and staff who refuse to wear a mask on the House side of the Capitol complex starting Thursday, according to a police memo issued by new USCP Chief Thomas Manger that was obtained by a member of Congress.
Police were also advised not to arrest members of Congress for failing to wear masks but to report the lawmakers’ noncompliance to the House sergeant-at-arms, the memo says.
Wow. Is this the U.S. Capitol Building or Communist China?
I would never expect anyone to be arrested for simply not wearing a mask. I didn’t even expect Democrats to pull such a radical move.
Why is Pelosi willing to arrest visitors and staff on Capitol Hill? Will doing that really make it a better place to work?
How does she not see that this is only going to make the problem worse? And that it will inspire people to push back.
Americans aren’t fans of dictators, after all. And Pelosi is not even trying to present herself as someone that respects the rights and freedoms of American citizens.
Does she think she controls the House like a tyrant? Did she suddenly forget this was America, not Westeros?
Say all you want about masks, Pelosi is certainly overstepping her bounds.
Capitol Hill is supposed to be a powerful symbol of American government and strength. More than any other place in the country, it represents the values and freedoms of the U.S.A.
Yet for months, it was occupied by the National Guard and surrounded by razor wire. Now, people will be arrested just for not wearing a mask.
Does that scream “freedom” or “democracy” to you?
