Soon after the world learned of Hamas’s attack on Israel, progressives around the world stood up for Palestinians. But instead of defending Palestinian civilians who had nothing to do with the attack, leftists seemingly supported the murderous group who took innocent lives.

Even in major universities in America, progressive students issued statements blaming Israel for the attacks. They repeated claims spread by anti-Israel groups for years, shocking millions around the world.

Students suddenly tried to backtrack, after learning CEOs were going to blacklist anyone that supported the Hamas attack on Israel. But now, a top-ranking GOP candidate for president issued a startling statement in defense of these students.

On Sunday, Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy said that companies should not “blacklist” Harvard college students who are members of organizations that co-signed an anti-Israel letter in the wake of the Hamas terror attack on the country.

In a post on X, Ramaswamy said, “The Harvard student groups who co-signed the anti-Israel letter are simple fools.” He continued, “But it’s not productive for companies to blacklist kids for being members of student groups that make dumb political statements on campus.”

Republican candidate for president, Vivek Ramaswamy, criticized companies who were deciding to blacklist students who backed statements seemingly defending the Hamas’s attacks. The conservative claimed it was “not productive” for companies to deny these students for making a “stupid” statement.

It appears Vivek is trying to stick up for free speech rights. But it is unclear whether this response will go over well with Republican voters, many of whom are strong supporters of America’s ally Israel.

These groups did not issue a “dumb political statement,” as Ramaswamy claims. In the eyes of many, they were defending the same evil that led to the extermination of millions of Jews in the Holocaust.

It is the prerogative of CEOs to avoid hiring people who share the views of Hamas or other anti-Israel, anti-Semitic groups. Those students made a choice to join those groups and support that statement. They, naturally, should share in the consequences of that choice.
