Biden Refused to Give Former UN Ambassador and Presidential Candidate Nikki Haley Secret Service Protection

Joe Biden has faced mounting criticism for denying Secret Service protection to his political rivals, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Donald Trump. Despite both candidates being high-profile figures in the 2024 election, Biden’s administration has been accused of selectively withholding security support.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who suspended his presidential campaign and endorsed Trump, had requested protection earlier in the year but was denied. Similarly, Trump, who has faced increased threats and even survived an assassination attempt in July, has yet to receive additional security measures.

Biden’s refusal has raised eyebrows, especially given the dangerous environment surrounding the election. Now, we are learning that he denied protection to another key Republican—despite alarming threats from a major enemy.

From Daily Wire:
Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley remains without government-provided security, despite facing years of credible threats from Iranian-linked actors, including one revealed as recently as Thursday…

“When I was running my presidential campaign the FBI had a separate hearing with me to let me know that Iran was influencing the election with our campaign to hurt me,” she said. “The murder-for-hire plot, named me. That’s by Iran.”

Nikki Haley, another former presidential candidate, has also been left unprotected despite credible threats against her life. Haley, the former U.N. Ambassador and South Carolina Governor, has been on Iran’s radar for years. In 2021, the FBI informed her that she was on a “kill list” due to her strong stance against the Iranian regime during her time at the United Nations. And yet, despite multiple death threats and even a foiled murder-for-hire plot, Haley’s requests for government protection have been ignored.

Haley’s situation has been particularly alarming. The FBI confirmed during her campaign that Iran was specifically targeting her. Just this July, she revealed that Iranian-backed actors were involved in a plot to assassinate her, a plot that was thankfully thwarted. However, the Department of Homeland Security has kept her waiting instead of providing her with Secret Service protection.

Haley’s campaign received numerous threats, including incidents where attackers attempted to breach her car and violent protesters disrupted her rallies. It’s hard to imagine why someone with such clear and present danger hanging over her head wouldn’t receive immediate protection.

Even after the Candidate Protection Advisory Committee recommended Haley receive security, her request was inexplicably stalled by DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. This, despite the fact that former Trump officials like Mike Pompeo and John Bolton—both also targets of Iranian threats—have been receiving Secret Service protection for years. Pompeo’s security detail has been renewed 13 times. Meanwhile, Haley, who was on the same “kill list” as these officials, remains without any government-provided protection.

The FBI’s records paint a chilling picture. A Pakistani citizen linked to Iran, Asif Merchant, was arrested in July after attempting to hire a hitman to kill a U.S. politician. Though the target’s name hasn’t been revealed, the plot’s complexity shows how serious the threat is. Merchant was planning to flee the U.S. the very day he was arrested, and his connections to Iranian actors suggest this wasn’t an isolated case.

Senator Chuck Grassley also released new information about Iran-backed assassination plots, including plans to target Trump, Biden, and Haley. These threats, in retaliation for the 2020 killing of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, have raised alarms about the safety of political figures on both sides of the aisle. Yet, for some reason, Haley and Trump are still left vulnerable.

Biden’s refusal to grant Secret Service protection to his rivals is not just a political maneuver—it’s dangerous. The threats against Trump, Kennedy, and Haley are real, and the administration’s silence on the issue is deafening.

Key Takeaways:

  • Biden denied Secret Service protection to rivals Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Donald Trump, despite credible threats.
  • Nikki Haley, facing multiple threats from Iran, including a foiled assassination plot, was also denied government protection.
  • Former Trump officials like Mike Pompeo and John Bolton receive protection, while Haley’s request remains ignored.
