Weapons the US abandoned during the tumultuous and deadly withdrawal were seized by the Taliban.
An Israeli commander told Newsweek that weapons left behind by Biden’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal are being used by Hamas in this attack. When Biden ordered American troops out of the country, they were forced to leave behind over $28 billion in weapons and equipment.
The Taliban immediately captured these resources and used them to take back the country. According to reports, the group has sold much of these weapons and equipment, including guns, munitions, and even vehicles.
According to the commander, some of this equipment ended up in Iran’s hands. Iran is being blamed for funding the current attack. It is possible the nation has learned how to “manufacture” these weapons, so they can build more.
