What’s Happening:
During the final debate, Trump positioned himself as the outsider—and it worked beautifully!
He exposed Joe Biden as a D.C. insider, a man who has not done anything for Americans in 47 years.
In all his time in the Senate—and even as vice president—it seems Biden accomplished very little for the average citizen.
He’s making lots of promises now, but what was he doing all those years in Washington?
In fact, Trump got Biden to admit a major mistake—and even Joe was forced to agree:
Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said he and former President Barack Obama “made a mistake” by failing to achieve comprehensive immigration reform during their eight years in office.
“It took too long to get right,” Biden said…
The former vice president also suggested that he would be more effective at addressing the issue than Obama, pledging to deliver an immigration overhaul that would create a pathway to citizenship for more than 11 million undocumented people living in the U.S.
Joe Biden really painted himself into a corner, when he admitted he and Obama couldn’t achieve immigration reform.
He claimed it took too long to “get right.” Really? You had eight years to do something.
Before that, Joe Biden was in the Senate for nearly forty years. Do you mean to tell me that wasn’t enough time to address immigration?
The best his administration would do was “DACA,” a bogus memo—not true legislation.
But the mistake Joe made last night was to throw Obama under the bus. He seemed to be trying to distance himself from Obama, by claiming as president he’ll do a better job than his former boss.
Ouch, talk about a lack of gratitude!
Biden also promised that he’d create a “pathway to citizenship” for the roughly 11 million non-citizens living in the country.
He says he can get that done in his first 100 days—despite not even trying in the last 47 years.
Trump has long called on Congress to work with him to come up with a legal path to citizenship for many undocumenteds. Yet Congress (thanks to Democrats) have refused.
What makes Joe think he can come up with a way to get both Republicans and Democrats to sign off on his plan? Obviously, he didn’t explain that last night.
Key Takeaways:
- Trump got Biden to admit he couldn’t score immigration reform with Obama
- Biden promised to create a path for undocumenteds, but didn’t explain how.
- He said it took too long before, although he had 47 years
