Heck, he’s said plenty that doesn’t match reality. But in some cases, his comments have put America in danger.
As it did this time. And now, the White House is scrambling to contradict him, again.

President Joe Biden affirmed that U.S. troops would move in to defend Taiwan in the event of an “unprecedented attack” in an interview with CBS News’s “60 Minutes” Sunday evening…
The State Department subsequently clarified to “60 Minutes” that U.S. policy toward Taiwan has not changed, although CBS News did not specify whether the agency said Biden’s statements reflected existing U.S. policy.
Okay, so let’s get this straight.
During a “60 Minutes” interview, Joe Biden said America would defend Taiwan if there was an ” unprecedented attack” from China.
But that appears to contradict America’s long-standing position over the conflict.
America has refused to side with Taiwan against communist China. U.S. officials are quick to stress we are not going to fight to defend Taiwan if China attacks.
Is Biden ending that policy? He said very clearly we would defend Taiwan.
The State Department had to tell the news show that its policy toward Taiwan has not changed.
But Biden’s comments are very different from what we’ve seen before.
Biden’s reckless words have gotten us into trouble before. The man said we would do nothing if Russia invaded Ukraine.
Guess what happened? Many believe Biden’s comments back in February gave Putin the green light to launch his attack.
Now, Biden could be stoking an angry response from China. Remember what they said when Pelosi just visited the country?
Imagine what China would do if it believed Biden was serious about defending Taiwan.
This is yet another moment when Biden’s careless and confused comments have put America into jeopardy.
