President Biden is facing many hurdles to his re-election. Polling suggested he is losing to Trump in major swing states. And his approval is the lowest of his presidency.
But his allies appear to be working overtime to paper over his failures and shortcomings.
Biden’s biggest failure, besides the border, is the country’s flagging economy. But one of his surrogates, Governor of Illinois J.B. Pritzker, tried to spin it. In so doing, he admitted a painful reality.
From Breitbart:
During MSNBC’s Iowa caucus coverage on Monday, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker (D) stated that “over the next four or five, six months,” the economy will improve and so “it will have been almost a full year in which” the economy is getting better.During an interview where he tried to pump up Joe Biden, Pritzker said that over the next “six months” the economy will improve. And that, he claims, will provide the country with “almost a full year” under Biden where the economy has gotten better.
That might sound impressive if you’re used to watching MSNBC. But Pritzker inadvertently admitted that for the three years, Biden’s been in office, the economy has only been getting better in the last four to six months.
Meaning, of course, that for most of Biden’s presidency, the economy has been ailing.
Many Americans will argue with Pritzker that the economy’s been recovering at all. Inflation continues to be a major problem, affecting jobs, paychecks, and American buying power. That has been largely hurt by Biden’s energy policy, restricting American-produced oil and natural gas.
Biden has seemingly done little to address the causes of U.S. inflation. Instead, he has apparently made excuses—blaming everything from Russia to COVID. Regardless, most polls suggest that Americans blame him for the state of the economy.
Not even his ally Pritzker was able to protect Biden’s image. At best, he could only say the economy has been getting better over the last few months. And, when everything is said and done, the best Biden can hope for is about a year of good economy, out of four.
Key Takeaways:
- Biden’s ally, Gov. Pritzker, claimed we’ve only had about four to six months of a good economy.
- This means, out of the three years Biden’s been president, we’ve only had 4 months of good economic growth.
- Many voters blame Biden for inflation and other economic problems hurting America.
