Biden Admin Admits Drones Are Out of Control – Calls On States to Take Action

Over the past few weeks, hundreds of mysterious drones have been spotted flying over the New York and New Jersey areas. This has led to Americans everywhere becoming increasingly concerned about what these drones are doing.

The Joe Biden administration has responded by trying to downplay these drones as much as possible. Meanwhile, government officials have given Americans virtually no answers as to the truth behind the drones.

Now, the Biden administration seems to finally be backtracking on this, as even Democrat officials are calling them out over the drones. Biden’s Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas addressed the situation in a new interview on Sunday.

From The Telegraph:
“We want state and local authorities to also have the ability to counter drone activity under federal supervision,” Mr Majorkas told ABC News program This Week on Sunday. “That is one important element that we have requested, and we’ve heard it echoed by the state and local officials themselves.”

It appeared to be an admission by Mr Mayorkas, who noted there were more than one million drones registered in the US, that the federal government could not tackle the issue alone.

State and local law enforcement agencies do not have the power to counter drone technology. Only a select number of agencies under the Department of Homeland Security, such as the US Secret Service, are authorized to take action.

This came after New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D) directly criticized Biden. She did so after Stewart International Airport was forced to close its runways due to mysterious drone activity.

“This has gone too far,” Hochul said. She went on to demand that Biden send “additional federal law enforcement to New York and the surrounding region to ensure the safety of our critical infrastructure and our people.”

Biden Admin Has Downplayed Drone Sightings

Both Biden and Mayorkas have been criticized for their lack of transparency regarding drones. They’ve also been slammed for trying to downplay them.

“Some of those drone sightings are, in fact, drones,” Mayorkas said on Sunday. “Some are manned aircraft that are commonly mistaken for drones. And we do see duplicative reporting.”

Mayorkas went on to claim that the Biden administration is “not aware” of “any foreign involvement or criminal activity” involving the drones.

“If we become aware of any, we will communicate accordingly and take appropriate action,” he added.

Also on Sunday, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie claimed to have seen a drone flying above his house.

“I can’t tell you the number of people that have come up to me concerned about it,” Christie said. “To say this is not unusual activity, it’s just wrong.”

The lack of answers as to what these drones are actually doing has led to conspiracy theories to abound. It’s also led to bipartisan concerns, with fears over drones being one of the few things Republicans and Democrats seem to be in agreement on at the moment.

Trump Weighs In

“Something strange is going on,” President-Elect Donald Trump said on Monday. “For some reason they don’t want to tell the people and they should because the people are really — they happen to be over Bedminster.”

Mike Walz, Trump’s incoming White House national security adviser, addressed the situation as well.

“Americans are finding it hard to believe we can’t figure out where these are coming from,” Walz said. “From the defense department standpoint, they’re focused on bombers and cruise missiles. It’s pointing to gaps in our capabilities and in our ability to clamp down on what’s going on here.”

When it comes to these drones, the American people deserve to know the truth. If we don’t get answers soon, this may just go down as yet another example of the Biden administration completely dropping the ball.

Indeed, January 20 truly can’t come soon enough.

Key Takeaways:

  • Biden’s DHS Sec Mayorkas admits that mysterious drones are out of control.
  • Mayorkas wants to give states the ability to shoot down drones.
  • This comes after mass concerns over the drones by Republicans and Democrats alike.
