Joe Biden has put in place radical policies that have many people questioning his intentions as president. He has also made himself famous worldwide for mumbling during speeches and stumbling on stages and staircases.

The president has also created detractors because of his off-the-cuff remarks at public events. Combine all the gaffes and quirks, and Biden has reputation for messing things up in public. Mainstream media and his allies try to avoid these topics, but sometimes Biden acts in a way that goes viral.

What really sends Biden’s quirks throughout social media like wildfire is the reactions from everyday people. This week Biden made comments to a little girl that left people wondering what he was thinking. And, again, the interaction has gone viral.

Towards the end of his speech, Biden looked over to the crowd thanking everyone, before proclaiming “I love your ears” to a small child sitting at a table who appeared to be wearing stuffed animal ears on top of her head.

The interaction happened as Biden and the First Lady participated in a Friendsgiving dinner with service members and military families. The event was with guests from the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower and USS Gerald R. Ford. Each carrier is deployed in the Middle east. The dinner was part of the White House’s Joining Forces Initiative.

Biden’s speech focused on thanking military members and guests for their service. Biden singled out the 6-year-old girl at the tail end of his speech.

“And I love your ears, I love them, they’re really cool. What’s your name?” Biden asked, before the girl shyly responded, “Catherine.”

And then the president’s comments and questions seemed to go in an awkward direction.

“What a beautiful name. That’s my mommy’s name…how old are you? Seventeen?” the president asked.

Before the girl could answer, a go at the table responded and said the girl was 6 years old. Biden turned his attention to the boy and teased about his age, asking if he was 15. The boy responded that he was “four.”

“Four? You’re a pretty big guy. Well, I’ll tell you what, be nice to your sister. You’re going to need her someday, at least I did,” Biden stated.

Biden’s team and allies insist these interactions, accompanied by memories of lost family members, are innocuous. That is becoming more debatable as the president continues to engage with these types of interactions with children and apparently he has no consideration for how inappropriate they may appear.

News of a similar interaction was covered by the news media in July when Biden was recorded on video nibbling on a Finnish girl’s shoulder as he left Helsinki.

As the 2024 presidential election campaign season gathers steam Biden will be under more scrutiny for his interactions at levels with the public.
