Earlier this week, Karine Jean-Pierre showed once again just how inept she is as White House press secretary. She did so when she stormed out of a press conference after being confronted about Lebanon funding by Fox News reporter Peter Doocy.

When Donald Trump was in office, his press secretaries were forced to contend with a room full of reporters who were incredibly biased against them. In contrast, Jean-Pierre can’t seem to handle it when even one reporter calls her out on the failures of the administration that she represents.

Jean-Pierre ended her Monday press conference prematurely after being asked about claims that the Biden administration has been accused of mismanaging funds being sent to Lebanon.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre received a promotion to senior adviser to the president Monday.

“Karine has been a trusted advisor to the President and all of us here at the White House since day one. Her counsel will be critical to get as much done as possible for the American people in the coming months,” White House chief of staff Jeff Zients told ABC News.

ABC News reported Jean-Pierre would begin the role “effective immediately” while still maintaining her job as press secretary. This would be the first time in decades a press secretary has also served as a senior adviser.

A White House official gushed over Jean-Pierre’s promotion. This anonymous official stated that “her promotion shows the faith that Biden has in her, as well as his commitment to having diverse and inter-generational voices guiding him in his decisions.”

Jean-Pierre Is Widely Seen As A Terrible Press Secretary

It should be noted that journalists of all political affiliations have widely panned Jean-Pierre’s abilities as a press secretary. Indeed, she is rarely responsive to questions during her briefings. She’s also often seen tilting her head down, seemingly to read answers that have been prepared beforehand.

Some reporters see this promotion as yet another example of the Biden administration resembling the plot of The Emperor’s New Clothes. In this folktale, members of the king’s court refrain from questioning the mistakes their leader is making.

Indeed, during her years as press secretary, Jean-Pierre shamefully covered up Biden’s apparent cognitive failings. On a daily basis, she told the American people not to believe their lying eyes when it came to Biden’s frequent gaffes.

Rather, Jean-Pierre dutifully fell in line with the Democrat establishment. She told the American people that any claims that Biden is not mentally sound were simply rightwing conspiracy theories. That loyalty to Biden has clearly since paid off for her in the form of this promotion.

We can only hope that by this time next month, Democrats will have lost control of the White House. Jean-Pierre should enjoy her cushy promotion while she can, because her party may not be in power much longer.
