Biden Just Tried to Erase 1 Important Part of U.S. History – Then House Republicans Rush in to Save It

Since 2020, progressive activists have tried to remove historical monuments. Some have rioted in major cities, attempting to tear down statues of figures from U.S. history.

Democrats in many cities have sided with these radicals, voting to rename buildings and remove statues.

Biden’s Pentagon has even formed a group seeking to rewrite American history. It has tried to remove a memorial in a historic cemetery. Now, Republicans are pushing back.

From The Post Millennial:
A group of Republican lawmakers are attempting to stop the Pentagon from taking out a Confederate monument belonging to Arlington National Cemetery.

Led by Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA), the group of lawmakers penned a letter to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Monday that demands he leaves the Reconciliation Monument, also known as the Confederate Memorial untouched until at least the conclusion of the fiscal year 2024 appropriations process.

Republicans are demanding the DOJ to leave in place the Reconciliation Monument, which resides at the Arlington National Cemetery. The Pentagon’s Naming Commission was formed to erase supposedly offensive names from military installations.

This is part of the left’s movement to scrub Confederate names from American history. Many have criticized this attempt at hiding America’s past. Some have accused the progressive left of trying to undermine America’s heritage through this movement.

Attempts have gone well beyond removing Confederate names. Activists have wanted to remove Washington, Jefferson, and Columbus from schools, buildings, and monuments over accusations of slavery. One group of progressives once vandalized a statue of Winston Churchill, who was not remotely involved in slavery.

It’s unclear if the Pentagon will heed lawmakers’ demands. If not, the situation might be escalated.

Key Takeaways:

  • Republican lawmakers are pushing back against the Pentagon’s decision to remove a historic monument.
  • Biden’s DOJ has created a commission to erase historical names from military installations.
  • This comes after progressives vandalized Confederate monuments and other historical sites.
