Trump’s Impeachment Attorney Executes His Trial Plan – He’s Going To Make Democrats Eat Their Own Words

Former President Donald Trump refused to testify at his impeachment trial in the Senate, which he calls nothing but a “public relations stunt.”

But he’ll still be sending several of his best attorneys, and the lead impeachment lawyer has a plan: he’ll attempt to make Democrats eat their own words.

Basically, Trump attorney Bruce Castor (the former acting attorney general of Pennsylvania), plans to highlight the left’s hypocrisy.

Because Trump is being accused of inciting violence with his words and messages, Castor intends to show that several high-ranking Democrats have done the exact same thing.

He won’t merely make a statement about the matter, either.

Castor intends to highlight the similarities between Trump’s words and Democrat statements to their supporters in a video — and it’s bound to make a big splash at the trial.

Via The Blaze (citing a Castor interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham):

Bruce Castor, the former acting attorney general of Pennsylvania, confirmed that he will use ‘dueling video’ to combat evidence that Trump’s rhetoric about the election incited the deadly violence at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

This appears to be a direct response to a previously revealed Democrat tactic.

Prior to this news, right-wing politicians and journalists predicted Democrats would use a video of Trump’s allegedly “inflammatory rhetoric” at the trial.

So, Trump’s team has decided to use this strategy against them: deploy a video of their own.

Castor believes there’s plenty of evidence that proves Democrats are guilty of precisely what they accuse Trump of, and he’s going to present it to the judges.

…there’s an awful lot of a tape of cities burning and courthouses being attacked and federal agents being assaulted by rioters in the street cheered on by Democrats throughout the country, and many of them in Washington, using really the most inflammatory rhetoric that’s possible to use.

And certainly, there would be no suggestion that they did anything to incite any of the actions. Certainly, there wasn’t any anyhow.

Castor said that in contrast, the President gave a speech that asked protestors to peacefully make their case for the people in Congress. And yet, he’s somehow the villain.

He concluded by saying it’s just a “prosecutor’s trick,” because they don’t have a sound case. When that happens, lawyers “put up all the really flashy stuff” to try to sway the court.

And he doesn’t believe it’s going to work. Most Republicans claim they have the votes to exonerate Trump, anyway.

One could certainly make the case that Democrats are guilty of something similar: many were called out last year because they apparently refused to condemn the widespread rioting.

Some Democrat leaders allegedly even supported the rioting with their messages, and that rioting resulted in plenty of damage to the country.

Either way, though, Democrats may not have the votes necessary to convict Trump in the Senate trial, and the former POTUS would avoid impeachment for the second time.

Key Takeaways:

  • Trump’s lead impeachment attorney has a plan for the upcoming Senate trial.
  • He intends to reveal a “dueling video” that evidently shows Democrats doing exactly what they accused Trump of doing.
  • Last year, many called out Democrats for failing to condemn the mass protesting and rioting that spread across the country.
