We are now one month away from Donald Trump’s move back into the White House. One of the main reasons that Trump trounced Kamala Harris in both the Electoral College and the popular vote is that he made it clear that he will be tough on illegal immigration from day one of his presidency.
In Biden-Harris’ America, illegal immigration has gotten out of control. Indeed, millions of illegal aliens have flooded our borders thanks to the lax policies of the Biden-Harris administration.
Now that Trump is the president-elect, however, that is all about to change. Trump just scored a huge win from an appeals court that ruled that the U.S. can deport illegal immigrants despite local objections.
From Fox News:
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) can continue using a Seattle airport for chartered deportation flights in a win for incoming President-elect Trump’s administration, a federal appeals court ruled. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling rejected a 2019 local executive order that sought to counter then-President Trump’s immigration policies, saying that King County, Washington violated its contract by prohibiting deportations at King County International Airport, which is also known as Boeing Field.
The court ruled that the order was unlawful because it discriminated against ICE and targeted federal operations. In 2019, Trump used Boeing Fields to deport illegal migrants from the U.S. and the local county sought to block the president’s removal operations.
In the wake of this order, ICE started using an airport in Yakima, Washington, for deportation flights. This airport was much further away from ICE’s Northwest detention center, making it extremely inconvenient for officials to get to.
“The relocation increased operational costs due to the greater distance from ICE detention facilities to the airport,” the ruling stated. “It also led to increased security concerns.”
In this ruling, 9th Circuit Judge Daniel A. Bress wrote that “this is not a situation in which King County officials are being conscripted into carrying out federal immigration laws on the federal government’s behalf.”
“Instead, the United States is asking King County, in its capacity as the owner of a public airport facility, to lift a discriminatory prohibition on private parties’ ability to engage in business with the federal government that supports federal immigration efforts,” he continued.
Huge Victory For Trump
This ruling is a huge win for Trump, who has promised to make cracking down on illegal immigration a top priority for him as soon as he takes office. In going about this, Trump has the full support of his “border czar,” Tom Homan.
“If you don’t want to work with us, then get the hell out all the way,” Homan recently said. “We’re going to do it.”
The appeals court ruling will also come as bad news to the many blue city officials who have already pledged to fight back against Trump’s deportation efforts. Denver’s Democrat Mayor Mike Johnston has gone so far as to say that he’s willing to go to jail if it comes to it when opposing Trump’s plans.
Meanwhile, the Democrat governors of Illinois, Arizona, and Massachusetts have pledged that they will not help Trump’s deportation efforts in any way. Let’s see how that works out for them!
We applaud the appeals court for making this ruling. Democrats can kick and scream all that they want to, but it won’t stop Trump’s illegal immigration crackdown. In the end, this is all part of Trump’s quest to make America great again!
Key Takeaways:
- 9th Circuit appeals court hands Trump a win.
- Rules the U.S. can deport illegal immigrants despite local objections.
