What’s Happening:

The media was in overdrive this week, as news came out that the DHS was resuming Trump’s border wall. The Department of Homeland Security Chief Mayorkas released a statement revealing that the border crisis required new border fencing to prevent illegal entry.

This is a radical reversal of the administration’s previous stance. Biden had vowed not to build a single new mile of border wall. It appears pressure from the party, along with Biden’s dragging approval, has forced the White House’s hand.

But not everyone in the Democratic Party is happy. Plenty of Democrats have opposed border security, practically advocating for an open border. AOC has caught wind of Biden’s plan to build more border wall. And she is having a meltdown.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,  D-N.Y., demanded that President Biden “reverse course” on constructing a wall at the U.S. border with Mexico, saying a “wall does nothing” and represents a “cruel policy.” […]

She added, “A wall does nothing to deter people who are fleeing poverty and violence from coming to the United States. Walls only serve to push migrants into more remote areas, increasing their chances of death. It is a cruel policy.”

Self-described Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez strongly opposed Biden’s decision to resume border wall construction. She took to X to criticize the administration. The New York congresswoman demanded Biden “reverse course.”

Citing no evidence, AOC claimed that a border wall would do “nothing” to deter migrants from entering the country. She called the millions of illegal border crossers “people who are fleeing poverty and violence.” She neglected to mention the human traffickers and drug cartels who have been exploiting the Southern border.

AOC claimed that building border fencing across areas frequented by migrants would “push” them into “more remote areas” which would increase “their chances of death.” She called Biden “cruel.”

It appears AOC is unaware that most migrants travel across thousands of miles of dangerous terrain before they reach the U.S. border. Many of those illegally entering the country are not originally from Mexico, but parts beyond.

They put themselves and their children at great risk when they cross unprotected wilderness in Mexico and other countries. Not to mention how they are usually relying on drug cartels and traffickers to get them across the border.

The Democrat also appears to be ignoring the crisis in her own district. New York City has been overrun by tens of thousands of migrants. People AOC represents in Congress have demanded the migrants be deported–even saying it to her face.

AOC was also outraged that Biden is waiving 26 environmental laws to speed up border construction. Democrats had tried to slow Trump’s border wall plans, using environmental regulation. But now, Biden is ignoring dozens of laws to make it happen.

It’s enough to make any socialist foam with rage.
