Supreme Court Gets New Demand from Swing State – This Case Just Threatened Biden’s Power

The Supreme Court is hearing numerous cases this session. The way it rules could have tremendous repercussions for millions of Americans. Some of the cases relate to the rights of individual Americans. Others, major institutions within our country.

A group of lawmakers from a key 2024 swing state is bringing a case before the highest court. A lower court rejected their bid.

But this issue could affect the outcome of the election and the future of the country. And they are going after something Biden did that could tip the balance of government—and give Democrats an unlawful upper hand.

From Fox News:
A group of Pennsylvania state legislators have taken their fight for the right to sue President Biden over his election executive order (EO) to the Supreme Court.

A group of 27 state lawmakers are asking the high court to give them standing in a case challenging Biden’s March 2021 Executive Order 14019 on “promoting access to voting,” after a lower court ruled that they lacked standing, according to a petition for writ of certiorari that was filed on Tuesday…

The Elections Clause states that the “times, places and manner of holding elections for senators and representatives, shall be prescribed in each state by the legislature thereof.”

A group of Pennsylvania Republicans is petitioning the Supreme Court to give them standing to sue the Biden administration. The suit is over an executive order Joe Biden signed that seeks to use the federal government to push a “get out the vote” effort that benefits Democrats.

In 2021, Biden signed an order that directed federal agencies and executive departments to “partner” with state election officials to push voter registration and “eliminate discrimination.” This has led numerous agencies to target minorities, ensuring that they are registered to vote.

Biden is focusing on people receiving Medicaid, living in government housing, students, and food stamp recipients. His motive seems transparent: he wants to ensure people dependent on Democrat policies to register to vote and cast their ballot. Missing from this effort are attempts that ensure conservatives have easy access to voting.

Republicans in Pennsylvania believe Biden is using the federal government to help Democrats win—which would be a violation of law. States have the power to manage elections, not the White House or federal agencies. But it is possible Biden thinks he found a way to bypass the Constitution, exploiting federal resources to do the job of the DNC.

Key Takeaways:

  • Pennsylvania Republicans are seeking the Supreme Court’s help to sue the Biden administration.
  • Biden signed an order that uses federal agencies to get minorities registered to vote.
  • The GOP is arguing Biden is violating federal law that only gives states the power to manage elections.
