Judge Drops the Gavel in Trump Trial – This Ruling Shuts Down Donald’s Prosecutor

Many have criticized the verdict of the civil trial against Donald Trump. A seemingly biased judge ruled he defrauded investors and hit him with a staggering fine. Democrat AG Letitia James inflated that fine with a bond over $400 million.

A judge drastically reduced the bond to $175 million. Trump paid it while he contests the verdict through appeals.

But apparently, Letitia James wasn’t happy with $175 million. She tried to reject the bond, in an attempt to cause further harm to the former president. If she had her way, Trump might have ended up paying over half a billion dollars to New York. Now, a court is ruling on James’s demand.

From Fox News:
Former President Trump’s $175 million bond judgment stemming from his non-jury civil trial will stand, a New York judge ruled Monday after New York Attorney General Letitia James attempted to invalidate it.

Lawyers for James on Monday argued that the court should void Trump’s slashed judgment of $175 million in his non-jury civil fraud trial. James questioned whether the company that posted the massive bond, Knight Specialty Insurance, could actually pay the bond if needed.

The court, though, ruled against James, deciding that the bond will stand.

If anyone doubted these lawsuits were about Democrats’ vendetta against Trump, this should put those to rest. Despite getting a verdict in her favor, Attorney General Letitia James seemingly sought to inflict more pain on Trump, his businesses, and his family.

Trump is required to pay $175 million in bond as the case faces appeals. James wanted that decision thrown out, making accusations about the group which is paying it.

It seems she wanted to go back to the $400+ million bond the original judge set. That would have required Trump to shell out nearly half a billion dollars just in a bond.

Who wants to beat that the state of New York would have never returned that money, should Trump win in appeals? Most people believe Democrats are pursuing “lawfare” against Trump to drain his resources dry.

Not just to stop him from becoming president again, mind you. Trump can always raise funds to run a campaign. These lawsuits seem more like personal grudges from Democrats who simply hate the man. James could be like so many Democrats suffering from TDS; she hates him because he is so well-liked and successful.

You can only imagine what these Democrats will do, should he win reelection.

Key Takeaways:

  • A court rejected AG James’ opposition to Trump’s $175 million bond.
  • The Democrat appeared to want to force Trump to pay $400+ million.
  • This bond is related to the New York civil case brought against Trump.
