Trump Gets a Giant Boost in 1 Swing State – It’s the Worst News Possible for the Biden Camp

Former President Donald Trump faced an onslaught of legal attacks heading into the primary elections this year. These affected donations to his campaign as radical liberals in the opposition party and the media attacked him constantly.

What the leftists didn’t expect was that Trump was able to overcome these obstacles and rival his Democrat opponent in fundraising. Trump’s ability to gain continued financial support from voters rivaled his efforts four years ago.

Trump proved that he could bring in the election funds needed to keep Biden at bay during this 2024 presidential election cycle. The bad news for Biden and Democrats is that the lead they hold nationally in fundraising doesn’t mean they are winning the money race in key states, especially this one state.

From the Washington Examiner:
Trump has gathered nearly double the funds compared to Biden from Georgians who have given $200 or more, the latest filings from the Federal Election Commission show. Trump has raised $2.2 million, which places Georgia as the sixth top state in terms of financial backing for the former president’s campaign. Biden has brought in $1.7 million, trailing the Republican in the cash race and state polling.

Biden still leads Trump in overall fundraising nationally by $18 million. But that lead doesn’t translate to an edge in all key states where Trump’s polling numbers are besting Biden.

Georgia may be a bellwether indicator of how the overall campaign is going for both candidates. Georgia voters headed to the polls for primary elections on Tuesday. Trump won without a doubt on the GOP ballot. This win set him up as the presumptive GOP nominee which could further threaten Biden’s ability to win in the fall in a head-to-head matchup.

Trump to date has topped the presidential primary field in terms of donations by gaining funds from 60,000 Georgia donors. That number dwarfs Biden who attracted donations from 6,217 people this election cycle. Nikkie Haley, the former U.N. ambassador and South Carolina governor, dropped out of the race but gained donations from 16,000 Geogia donors.

Trump continued to raise money in Georgia at a striking pace against Democrats despite facing criminal charges in Fulton County. The district attorney there fell under heavy criticism after complaints that she has a conflict of interest in the case.

A Georgia judge is set to make a ruling any day regarding District Attorney Fani Willis in connection to her romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade whom she appointed to the case. That relationship, according to trump attorneys, disqualifies her to prosecute the case.

Trump still faces a criminal trial in New York regarding alleged hush money in less than two weeks. A strong showing of support among Georgia voters in the GOP primary could go a long way to dictate Trump’s primary path going forward. He’ll need the votes and the funds from donors there to sustain his campaign.

Key Takeaways:

  • It was bad news for Biden after Trump racked up big donations in Georgia.
  • Trump topped all fundraising in the key state ahead of primaries on Tuesday.
  • Trump became the presumptive GOP nominee after winning in Georgia.
