After SCOTUS Deals Colorado Devastating Loss – GOP Leader Sweeps in with Shock Retribution

Recently, the Supreme Court dealt a huge blow to the Democrats’ election plans. It ruled that states did not have the power to remove Trump from the ballot—regardless of their accusations of “insurrection.”

This whole drama unfolded because a court in Colorado, spurred on by the secretary of state, struck Trump from the ballot.

The court ruled against the states, restoring Trump on Colorado’s ballots. But now, Republican leaders are setting their sights on this Colorado Democrat. And one GOP congresswoman has made a bold move.

From Fox News:
Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., led state party officials in a letter addressed to Secretary of State Jena Griswold Monday that accused her of attempting to “disenfranchise millions of Coloradans” and called the effort to bar Trump from the ballot “a stain on our Republic and an outright embarrassment.”…

The GOP officials charge that Griswold made “a selfish political decision to rig the primary election” against Trump and declare that “all legal options” are on the table for payback, “including a formal recall effort.”

Rep. Lauren Boebert joined with state GOP leaders to call out Colorado’s secretary of state. They accused Jena Griswold of trying to “disenfranchise” voters by removing Trump from state ballots.

Now that this plan has failed, Boebert appears to be calling for Griswold’s removal. She claimed the secretary of state is unable to govern the upcoming election. And that voters will have “zero faith” in her ability to protect their right to vote.

The GOP leaders said they are looking at “all legal options” to remove Griswold from her position. That even includes a “formal recall effort.”

It’s unclear if their plans will come to fruition. But this letter could serve to motivate Colorado voters to move against Griswold. Any Trump supporters in the state nearly lost their right to vote for him. They might be looking to hold Griswold accountable for this situation.

Could that result in a recall effort? It is possible. That would take movement from GOP leaders to build momentum in that direction.

If they are successful, it might send a message to Democrats in other states. If they try to tamper with democracy again, they might face the wrath of voters.

Key Takeaways:

  • GOP Rep. Boebert threatened Colorado’s secretary of state with a recall.
  • She accused Griswold of undermining democracy over Trump’s removal from the ballot.
  • The Supreme Court shut down Colorado’s decision, ruling states cannot remove federal candidates from the ballot.
