After Liberals Protest Against Top Right – Republican Leader Stuns Them with 1 Boss Move

A group of students was protesting in a state capitol this week. A Republican lawmaker approached them, asking what issue they were supporting. It’s not uncommon for people to demonstrate at a government building—to send a message to their leaders.

This group of young liberals was working with a progressive organization backed by billionaire (and former Republican) Michael Bloomberg.

They were protesting for more gun control in their state. The Republican argued that the Second Amendment protects Americans’ rights, especially the right to defend ourselves. And then he showed them how much be believed in this right.

From Fox News:
A Republican lawmaker in Indiana flashed his concealed firearm to students protesting for gun control at the state’s Capitol on Tuesday.

State Rep. Jim Lucas approached the group of five teenagers to ask what brought them to the Capitol. He began to defend gun rights when they told him they were participating in a protest with a branch of the Everytown for Gun Safety advocacy group…

When a student asked if Lucas meant carrying a firearm, the lawmaker opened his jacket and said, “I’m carrying right now.”

State Rep. Jim Lucas explained to a group of gun control advocates the importance of the Second Amendment. He told them are not “truly free” unless they can protect themselves. That is what many Second Amendment supporters believe and why they firmly defend the right.

When they asked if Lucas believed that included carrying a firearm while outside the home, he revealed he was “carrying right now.” The lawmaker opened his jacket and showed that he had a firearm safely stowed in a holster under his jacket.

Unsurprisingly, one of the students claimed they felt less safe stating “Nothing about someone carrying a gun makes me feel safe.” Ironically, the student failed to understand that the gun makes the carrier safer, not someone unarmed.

Often, gun control advocates claim that preventing Americans from carrying firearms will make the country safer. They seem to ignore the many accounts of when a law-abiding citizen stopped a crime in progress because they were carrying a firearm.

Or how “gun-free” zones are frequently targeted by would-be criminals. The fact that most people in those zones are defenseless only encourages a shooter. But when someone can arm and protect themselves, there are fewer encounters.

Lucas later lamented the spread of propaganda that makes Americans fear “their best means of self-defense.” He also accused liberal groups of convincing Americans to support a policy that makes them more dependent on the government.

Key Takeaways:

  • A Republican state lawmaker showed protesters that he was carrying a firearm.
  • He did this to show the students the importance of concealed carry.
  • The group of students were members of Everytown for Gun Safety, a progressive gun control group.
