New 2024 Poll Delivers Surprise Results – Look Who’s Beating Both Biden and Trump

What’s Happening:

Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are headlining almost every news outlet as the 2024 presidential race unfolds. At this point each stands to win the party nomination for Democrats and Republicans, respectively.

But there is a lot of ground to cover in the next 12 months before the next president is elected. Biden’s campaign faces internal struggles as liberals complain about his performance and Trump is battling legal challengers from East to West. Both still hold the frontrunner position for their respective parties with a lot to lose on the line.

Both candidates have an energized challenger lurking in their rear-view mirror following results of a recent poll. Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is making waves within a younger voter demographic that eludes Biden and Trump.

From Fox News:
The New York Times and Siena College published a poll showing that Kennedy has more support among Americans under 45 in critical battleground states over both Presidents Trump and Biden.

That support equates to 34 percent of registered voters between 18 and 29 are behind Kennedy for president. Biden and Trump trail Kennedy in this age range at 30 percent and 29 percent, respectively. Kennedy also notched a bit higher than his opponents in the 30-44 age range with 31 percent. Trump and Biden were tallied 30 percent each in this older group.

These are strong numbers for Kennedy early in the race, but they are just part of the story. Older voters aren’t flocking to Kennedy like the younger crowd. The former Democrat falls far behind the party leaders.

Trump leads all candidates in the 45-64 age group with 41 percent, followed by Biden with 31 percent. Kennedy managed 20 percent support. Kennedy lags further behind as voters age.

Among registered voters aged 65 and up, Biden took 39 percent, Trump took 37 percent, and Kennedy only carried 17 percent of people polled. The poll indicates the stark contrast in how candidates relate to the different age groups.

Kennedy stopped campaigning as a Democrat last month to mount an independent bid for the White House. He believes Americans want political options that Democrats and Republicans don’t provide.

“Something is stirring in us, saying it doesn’t have to be this way,” Kennedy said, adding that Americans are “ready to reclaim their freedom and independence.”

Kennedy targeted the political establishment and “mercenary media” for influencing people to “hate each other” as “part of their scam.” This pushed him to declare his independent run for president.

“But that’s not all, I’m here to join you and make a new Declaration of Independence for our entire nation,” Kennedy said. “We declare independence from the corporations that have hijacked our government.”

Kennedy shifted to his independent status after the Democratic National Party stood in support of the incumbent president. The DNC also stated it would not schedule primary debates.

Key Takeaways:

  • Biden and Trump lead the field but face a strong challenger in the mix.
  • A new poll exposes the weakness of both candidates among key demographics.
  • This challenger issues a “new Declaration of Independence” from “hijackers.”
