What’s Happening:

Plenty of Republicans have talked about this growing crisis, but few have come up with solutions. Even when Trump was president, Republicans in Congress delayed his plans to fix this issue. And today, as it explodes more and more, some conservatives are all complaints but no action.

I’m talking, of course, about the growing border crisis which gets worse every day.

One candidate for president, however, seems to be going all-in on a major plan. This Republican candidate is not shying away from the problem, which jeopardizes our national security and every last U.S. community. But his plan is going even further than what Trump has suggested. And he is confident it will work overnight.

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, in an interview with Fox News Digital this week, said the construction of a wall at the southern border is not enough to stop the ongoing migrant crisis, and he said he believes the military should be deployed to both the southern border and possibly the northern border…

“I would use our own military to secure our own southern border. I think that is legally, ethically and constitutionally justified. That is how we seal the southern border. In fact, I think it’s going to be an approach that we will eventually need to seal our own northern border as well,” he said.

Woah. Vivek Ramaswamy, an outsider candidate for the GOP, has vowed to use the U.S. military to secure both the southern and northern borders of the country. Ramaswamy has said that Trump’s border wall, which wasn’t completed before he left office, “has not been enough.”

The Republican rightly pointed out that, for many years, illegal aliens including cartels have dug tunnels to get passed the border. These tunnels are everywhere and when law enforcement finds them, they fill them up with concrete so they are no longer useable.

Ramaswamy believes the existence of these tunnels makes the wall only part of the solution. He seems to think that utilizing troops to protect the border is the only way to end the crisis.

He might be right. Our military exists to protect our nation, after all. Are they only useful when being shipped overseas, to fight foreign battles? Or can’t our troops defend the homeland, right here, where the danger is?

We know criminals and other threats cross our border every day. If troops are delayed, we could end this nonsense once and for all.
